What is true divine work

To work for Thy victory is our sole mission on earth.

Thy victory over ignorance, darkness and the deep-rooted evil in us, in the earth nature
by replacing all the undivine forces and influences in our being down to the very cells of the body
with the divine consciousness , the direct presence, peace, harmony, love, beauty
and indivisible oneness of the eternal Being

Thy help is there in the fullest measure for achieving this goal

O Mother Divine

May we work with a luminous inspired consciousness
And a total faith in Thy victory
May we become pure and simple instruments.

A particular Path

The courageous soul
the persevering soul

There were two children much loved by their Mother,
A Mother protecting them against all odds, against all.

Two terrible children
whom an attentive Mother often scolded to prevent them from going astray,
and very often gave a firm, well-placed slap, strongly felt to keep them from falling.

A Mother who transformed the flame in their hearts  into a burning fire.

They walked for a long time on a tightrope,
pushed by the intransigent ardor of an unleashed Mahakali,
And entered, mesmerized, into the enchanted world of radiant beauty and etenal Love

Then, one of the children began to run, far, far ahead, always further,
always higher, arms stretched toward the Mystery,
and disappeared into the Light deep within the Mother’s heart.

The other child continues to walk slowly, striving to follow the path laid out,
always accompanied by the burning ardor of Mahakali

The infinitesimal Infinite- poem by Sri Aurobindo

The infinitesimal Infinite

Out of a still Immensity all came!
These millions universes were to it
The poor light-bubbles of a trivial game,
A fragile glimmer in the Infinite.

It could not find its soul in all that vast:
It drew itself into a tiny speck
Infinitesimal, ignobly cast
Out of the earth's mud and slime strangely awake,

A tiny plasm on a little globe
In the small system of a dwarflike sun,
A little life wearing the flesh for robe,
A little mind winged through wide space to run!

It lived, it knew, it saw its self sublime,
Deathless, outmeasuring Space, outlasting Time.

Sharanagata

The meaning of surrender is becoming clear in my consciousness.

When in a sacred moment of rising aspiration we throw ourselves at Your lotus feet
offering all our life, all we are, our past, present and future
and take refuge exclusively in You,

rely and depend on You alone
and leave everything to You without any demand,

willing to accept whatever comes from You or is taken away from us,
ready to serve You in any way You want,

when we become a docile, vibrant instrument in Your hands,
then only we realise  the profound significance of surrender - Sharanagata -
one who  has taken refuge in the Divine Mother, the Supreme.

This surrender is progressive.
The aspiring soul is progressively possessed by the divine consciousness
An integral surrender will necessarily l
lead to identification with the divine consciousness.

Whatever is given to the Divine is transmuted and possessed by Him

Finally the Divine alone acts through the instrument
in order to further develop the divine life on earth.

some words from Sri Aurobindo - a veil behind the heart.....

A veil behind the heart,  a lid over the mind

Divide us from the Divine

Love and devotion rend the veil

In the quietude of the mind the lid thins and vanishes

The Adventurer

I have left behing the familiar shores, lakes and torrents, harmless shallow river ways.
Higher than the higher peaks of mind which no man can climb

Deeper than the deepest abyss of  life which no diving whale can fathom,

Further than the fancy's utmost extended range

Waits the new world of million tuned harmony.

My keel is on the unchartered ocean, I have thrown all  useless cargo overboard
Haeven's blessings, the pouring rain have cleansed my deck of the petrifed slimes of the ages
O Supreme Being,  my Captain, I have faith in Your skill  I am wholly yours,

I fully trust You , the wheel of my destiny is safe in Your hand
But for You O Knower of the unmarked open sea lanes,
Each moment would be a near disaster in the adventure of the unknown
Beyond the tracherous sharp edges lies the promised land where the Golden Sun never sets.

Your name be thrice blessed, By Your Grace my fragile boat is now on the port
On the other side of the ocean enjoying at last freedom.

You have lifted the veil over my soul, my heart kneels down before You in gratitude.
Inside, outside, above and below I meet Your reassuring eyes.
Peace has flowed into my body, life, mind and soul.
A handful of common sand witholds in it unborn divinities.
My life is now an unbroken song of glory pulsating somewhere in the immesurable Spirit-Space

Such is Your mystery,
even if all were abolished, You remain undiminished

*********

In this solemn hour,
some reckless souls, enchanted by the call of the eternal Mother,
Unoticed are crossing a secret barrage of mystic fire
To emerge into the vast supermind ruled by a golden Sun
Where all is spirit, sorrow impossible, joy the substance of life.

A message from the Mother for New Year

Lord, the year is dying and our gratitude bows down to Thee,

Lord, the year is re-born, our prayer rises up to Thee.

Let it be for us also the dawn of a new life

The Universal Incarnation - Poem by Sri Aurobindo

The Universal Incarnation

There is a wisdom like a brooding Sun
A bliss in the heart's crypt grown fiery white
The heart of a world in which all hearts are one
A silence on the mountain of delight

A Calm that cradles Fate upon the knees;
A wide compassion leans to embrace eath's pain
A Witness dwells within our secrecies
The incarnate Godhead in the body of man.

Our mind is a glimmering curtain of that Ray
Our strenght a parody of the immortal power
Our joy a dreamer on the Eternal's way
Hunting the fugitive'beauty of an hour

Only on the heart's veiled door the word of flame
Is written, the secret and tremendous Name

Light - Poem by Sri Aurobindo

Light

Light, endless Light! darkness has room no more,
Life's ignorant  gulfs give up their secrecy:
The huge inconscient depths unplumbed before
Lie glimmering in vast expectansy.

Light, timeless Light, immutable and apart!
The holy sealed mysterious doors unclose.
Light , burning Light! fom the Infinite's diamond heart
Quivers in my heart where blooms the deathless rose.

Light in the rapture leaping through the nerves!
Light, brooding Light! each smitten  passionate cell
In a mute blaze of ecstasy preserves
A living sense of the Imperishable.

I move in an ocean of stupendous Light
Joining my depths to His eternal height

Sri Aurobindo

Transformation of desire in aspiration

Desire is the tyrannical king of all human beings
Desire is the fire put in man by God in His divine wisdom.

Man roams ceaselessly in search of happiness, always disappointed.
The smoking black fire grows, becomes intense, more and more clear.
Man abandons hunting for a short lived material happiness.
The desire becomes more refined, it pursues a less fragile happiness.
One day when man has tasted, exhausted all the known happiness,
He turns his glance to the unexplored Infinity, to the unknown.

The earthly fire becomes a sacred flame which rises towards the sky.

Desire is transformed into a burning aspiration for the eternal joy,
World is supported by the divine Felicity hidden in the atoms.

Attracting by His irresistible bliss, the supreme Divinity
Leads all the creation towards the sublime metamorphosis.

The being who tasted only once the nectar of immortality roams no more.
The long , mad, painful search stops.

All in him burns as a single flame, a single appeal

" Come my love, O Lord of bliss. "
The ant does not look any more for sugar
It swims in an ocean of bliss.
