Prayer to Shubhada

Sweet Mother, give me Thy wisdom to understand things and Thy love to love all in You and You in all. Only Your love can engulf and completely consume all forms of egoistic demands.
Mother, may I feel You always in my heart and You become myself and take possession of the adhara. It is only Your grace which can transform the "I" which is me.
Give me devotion in my heart - a devotion which will flow out eternally in a torrential gush.
Give the strength of mind and will to reject all that is false and distorting, anything that stands between You and me.
O Mother lead all of us from blindness to perfection, when we all live in You, move in You and are upheld by You.

An invisible Sun is illuminating the earth

An invisible Sun is illuminating the earth

As if an invisible Sun is illuminating the earth. The old world created by mind and separative ego is now exposed to the rays of the one divine Consciousness and Being, more like a cloud covering the entire globe. Its constant radiation is destroying all that is based on separation and division, transmuting whatever can be transmuted. All the alloys will be burnt out leaving only the pure gold. In this vast consciousness, there is no strong sense of individuality to begin with – that is to say when we are just touched by it. When we shall be entirely possessed by That, we will lose all sense of separate existence. We will feel as if we are so many hands and feet, eyes, ears and mouths of an infinite eternal Being which becomes our real being. This radiation which is weak at the moment is increasing in intensity everyday. If it were too strong everything would be burnt out. So the temperature is controlled as in a ceramic kiln. The heat is progressively increased, otherwise all the vases will be shattered to pieces. In short, all the elements opposed to unity and harmony of the divine oneness will gradually disappear like the dinosaurs and the barbarians. This is only the negative side of the divine action.
All the elements favourable to unity and harmony, ready to shed their ego and merge in the divine oneness, moved only by the divine Will, will tend to come together and form the new divine life on earth. All those who aspire for the Truth, the Divine, the One and the Infinite will naturally enjoy a great protection and dynamic support from above. Either one goes through safely or one is broken. There is no halfway solution. Tepid, pious intentions should become a real dynamic power of action in life. Otherwise there is no sure footing, no certitude or security in life.
There is a vast revolution going on. It cannot stop until the new life is fully established on earth. In other words, this period of great transition gives the sense of instability and precariousness. Due to the pressure of the divine Force, all the darkness and devil’s stuff hidden in the human nature are rising like the scum on the surface of molten metal. This is happening on the individual as well as the universal level. The fire of transformation has engulfed the whole world. All that moves towards the Divine, the One, peace and harmony is safe. All that refuses to budge, entrenched in separation and division, ignorance, obscurity and violence is inevitably moving towards extinction. When one looks from this point of view, then one can see inside and outside of oneself what is helpful and what is self-destructive – what helps us to come closer to the Divine and what keeps us away from the Divine. When we think, feel, speak and act in a way which brings us close to the Divine, we begin to enjoy the felicity of the constant divine Presence. This work can be done anywhere. If one is serious, then one can feel the invisible Sun constantly shining over the whole earth and inevitably transforming it into a kingdom of God.

Surrender, the Royal Road

Surrender, the Royal Road

The most ancient spiritual seekers, aspiring souls and mystics discovered through long meditation and profound search for the meaning of manifestation of life on earth and the destiny of human beings that there is a supreme omnipotent absolute all seeing blissful Will which guides, controls, leads, manifests the Divine progressively in the evolution. They also logically came to the conclusion that to follow this supreme Will, if one is in the least conscious of it, was the highest wisdom to go through life towards Peace, harmony, divine felicity and unity of all creation in the Supreme, the One. The Gita ends with the marvelous injunction to the seeker - “Abandoning all dharmas, social, political, religious, ethical and moral laws, take refuge in me. I shall deliver thee from all ignorance, all suffering and lead you to the supreme Truth and Bliss. Do not be perplexed, have confidence in me, listen to my guidance without fear or perplexity, for my ways cannot be understood by limited human consciousness. But I assure you, if you have faith in me, I shall never abandon you.” This is the promise of the supreme law to every human soul in ignorance even dimly aspiring for durable peace, harmony and divine felicity.
But, how to recognize the Divine leading? It all depends on the sincerity, entirely, absolutely on the sincerity of our aspiration. If we seek a guidance of the Lord, the Mother Divine reveals Herself in the most convincing way to the seeking soul. She not only reveals Herself but carries the soul to its ultimate divine fulfillment. In the short human life, the yoga of surrender is the safest and quickest way to feel the constant presence of the Mother in our consciousness. Her loving hand arranges our life in a meticulous way so that we grow by rapid steps in consciousness, vision, strength, power and super human capacities. One need not be an exceptional being to be able to follow the most fascinating irresistible charming, assuring guidance of the Mother whose smallest gesture and act is a supremely benevolent benediction. Whatever She does in our life, with our life, if we have confidence in Her, then even in the most perilous situations and dangers in the divine adventure we will feel an exaltation and a rapturous thrill of Her strong invincible presence and guidance. She is not far away; only an obstinate curtain of our own disbelief and incredulity and lack of faith separates us from Her who is all around us, always, everywhere in everyone and everything. She is always waiting for a childlike sincere call to start Her work of divine transformation of a human soul into a conscious portion of Herself, always safe in Her sweet felicity.
Our surrender to the Mother Divine complete without reservation, without shrinking and fear is the royal road to the Divine life, which Sri Aurobindo and the Mother have undertaken to establish on earth.
Remember the words of the Master, “Have faith in Me, I shall lead you to the divine fulfillment.”

Douce Mère, Adi Shakti

56
Douce Mère
You came on earth to establish the Divine Life here in the material world.
You have taken upon Yourself all the obscurity, violence, cruelty,
Suffering and blindness of the earth nature
And transmuted them into seas of light, power and felicity
And created the firm and stable foundation
For the manifestation of the new divine race.
We, Your children, must not forget for a moment
Your constant luminous Presence in our heart, mind, body and soul.
May we be always lovingly grateful to You
For all You have done for us and are constantly doing for us.
Without Your constant Presence, no transformation can ever be achieved.
The Supramental manifestation is Your manifestation,
Manifestation of the Adi Shakti, the Eternal Mother
In a constantly growing number of aspiring souls.
Glory to Thee, O Supreme Consciousness,
Be our Guide, Friend, Mother and Teacher, Light, Love,
Beauty and Felicity in an ever-increasing intensity.
Pranam, Pranam, Pranam.

Poem on peace

Peace
Deep down in the heart of things,
There is Peace.
Far above the clamour of the hours,
There is Peace.
In dramas of life small or big, sweet and tragic,
There is peace
If we want it
